Sturbridge, MA
Make a reservation for this meeting.
MEETING INFORMATION:

This years COC will be held at the Sturbridge Host Hotel in
Sturbridge, MA October 4 through October 6. This weekend is usually
a very beautiful time in New England.

We will have activities for the entire weekend. Beginning on Friday
night, October 4, we will have a hospitality suite. On Saturday we
will have a full day of events starting with the business meeting and
ending the official day's activities with the installation of the new
slate of officers at the banquet. The banquet will end when everyone
has had enough fun and excitement for the evening. The highlight of
which is the medal winning Sweet Adeline Barbershop
Quartet "Reminisce" during cocktails from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
in the banquet room.

HOSPITALITY ROOM:
We will have a hospitality room at the Sturbridge Host Hotel. You
may inquire about its location at the check-in desk upon your
arrival. The room will be staffed from approximately 5:00 p.m. until
10:00 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your fellow SME
members, their guests and spouses.

This is a very casual and relaxing evening. I recommend attending
this function, even for only a few minutes. Your fellow SME members
and their guests are very helpful and friendly.

Light refreshments and snacks will be provided to all attendees.

DOOR PRIZE RAFFLE AND GIFTS:
Ron Messa will again host the highly successful Door Prize Raffle at
this years banquet. All chapters are asked to donate a wrapped door
prize for the raffle. Please bring your gift with you to the banquet
on Saturday night. See Ron with your donation when you arrive. If
you can not attend the banquet, please see Ron during the meeting
Saturday afternoon.

MEETING INFORMATION
Important Region business and voting will be conducted which will
affect the way your Region operates. The highest ranking elected
officer in attendance from each Chapter is entitled to vote, offer
resolutions or to make motions. In the event that no Chapter officer
is able to attend, a delegate may be designated. This delegate MUST
bear a letter verifying their special status. These credentials need
to be provided to the Region Secretary (Jeffrey Caleshu) prior to the
start of the business meeting.

Nancy Maier from SME Headquarters and ex-officio Gene Nelson will be
speaking at the business meeting. They both will have good
information to share.

Don't miss out on an opportunity to meet with these people and other
SME Chapter members. Even if you are unable to attend the banquet on
Saturday evening, you are encouraged to join us for the business
meeting that morning.

Our training sessions during the day, which include Chair/Chair-
Elect, Treasurer and Six Sigma training, will meet the National
requirement of a Chapter officer's attendance at a Region training
session. We will forward all attendees names to National so that
your chapter will get credit for attendance and receive all possible
funding. There is No Charge for this Region benefit.

hour, which will be followed by a banquet style dinner. The cost for
the banquet is $30.00 per person.

Chris,

Thanks for representing the chapter at Region 5. Trish and I already
have plans, so looks like you're on your own unless anyone else wants
to go.

Don't forget to submit an expense report so we can reimburse you for
mileage, hotel, meals, etc. Expense report forms are on the SME web
site (or just email me the info and I'll fill one out).
