I've been thinking about writing a blog and call it something like
Sports Parenting. The audience would be parents of kids who play
sports - recreation, travel teams and school teams. The purpose would
be to share my thoughts and information about the issues involving the
parenting of kids who play sports. Topics like
Benefits of Private Lessons
When your child is the (worse, best) on the team
Should I push or should I back off?
Bragging parents
The coach won't play my child
Are you living through your child?
I'm a mom of two kids - one who swims competitively and one who plays
baseball competitively. Sometimes I want a place to just blow off
steam regarding the struggles of my child. Sometimes I want to share
information or experiences. I am not a sports psychologist or former
professional athlete or coach. I do plan to interview experts though.
If it were successful I might want to split the site up into Baseball
Mom, Soccer Mom, Swim Mom, etc to discuss specific parenting issues of
those sports. Good or bad idea? Should I narrow my topic now and
then branch out later?
Does this sound like something you would subscribe to or visit
regularly? Does this have money making potential?
A lot of questions, I know. I suppose I need to do some research but
I would love your thoughts or opinions.
