The purpose of this list is to discuss CURRENT prototype railroad topics originating from the Western Ohio area. Participants are asked to keep the topics for their posts related to PRESENT DAY prototype railroading in the western Ohio and very eastern Indiana area. CSX, Norfolk Southern, Indiana and Ohio Railway, the RJ Corman railroad's Western Ohio Division, and other Western Ohio Shortlines will be the railroads mainly discussed. Most of the topics will originate from the Dayton, Piqua, Sidney, Ohio area, but topics are welcomed from Toledo to Columbus to Cincinnati. These topics can include news, rumors, sightings, etc. If a topic is just a rumor, please state this in the post. Acceptable topics are news about new trains, sighting information, upcoming events, and things like that. Unacceptable posts are topics of a political nature, anything touching on railroad labor practices, or your opinion on how to run a railroad. There are plenty of places on the internet to talk about these topics. It just isn't within the purpose of this list. Historic posts are a gray area. Occasional historic post are acceptable, as long as they stay within the purpose of the list (ie, talk about traffic levels, power assignments, train traffic). There are plenty of other groups that concentrate on historic topics. Once again it was just the plans of the founders to have a list which concentrated on current, prototype operations in our area.
