Reportedly this one is still in use every once in a while.

Their other one is stored out of site from general visitors.

Hello,

I have some questions about the above. The original Fiji 17A's what would have
been the wheel diameter and were the axleboxes sprung?

If you have a look at my photos in the Fiji part in the photos section I'd like
an opinion on 2 photos: Cuvu friction drive [taken in the early 80's] and
another photo Cuvu in use taken last year. Is the new photo a rebuild of the
original 17A? The new one shows a side mounted engine and gearbox and
replacement outside axleboxes similar to the cane wagons in use. Would mean
effectively only the shell was used. The fuel tank looks the same in both
photos.

Is this a rebuilt Wickham 17A?

What do people think?

Cheers
John

It is reported in the Other Railways & Preservaion section of this magazine that
Type 8S (Works No. 2904) made a return trip from Llanfair to Cyfronydd during
the railways annual gala on the weekend 5th / 6th September.

Does anyone have any photos or video of this?

Jonathan
