Hi folks,
I just wanted to let ye know about a FreeShare project I've tried to
start in Dublin, Ireland. The website is http://ie.uk.to/  .

The idea was to focus on 'shareable' - as opposed to non-shareable,
but recyclable - goods (at least in the beginning), but the project
really hasn't taken off unfortunately. Feel free to take a look
anyway.

Also, I actually decided to use a website - with a Content Management
System - for the project, as opposed to a mailing-list/Yahoo Groups.
For anyone who might be interested in adopting a similar approach for
their own project, I have drafted a 'How-to' - which you can access

This project is for the sharing/lending of items such as tools,
books, equipment etc. that a person might have lying around but
aren't using. The project is not about lending items for money.
Essentially, it is about lending items for free.

Although the project is mainly for shareable goods at the moment, an
option to search for/request non-shareable goods might be added at
some stage - if the project becomes active. Listings for services
(a 'Help offered/needed' section) is another facility which could be
introduced.

Before using the site, you can read a bit more about it here. You
can register here. Since this project is somewhat experimental, the
site may be changing regularly. If you're having any problems, or
have feedback or suggestions, you can contact the webmaster here.

Free items on auction site, over 200 members!

Been sure to copy and paste your requests to the auction site, In
search of, wants, needs as well as Free offers and regular auction
listings!

If you notice your virtual $$$ going up automatically the auction
fairies are busy added more virtual money to accounts to keep the
auction listing FREE!! Not good as cash.

We will have a forum added to the site soon!  Yahoo messages are
taking hours to post to the group and that delay is not good when
wanting to get rid of stuff or try and get the free offers!!  We
hope you will find our main site a consistent and helpful community
resource.

We are working on adding more categories, babies, farm animals and
fundraisers and garage sales!  We will keep you posted.

Over 20 auctions are going so get to posting, some are FREE!  It
only takes a couple minutes to list and is as easy as ebay, have

Deron Beal will not win this fight because it is wrong of him
to "close the competition" so his corporation FREECYCLE can make

Cheapcycle is an alternative to Freecycle. Cheapcycle is the place to
list items that you don't really need or want anymore, but don't want
to just give away. With Freecycle we can keep lots of random items out
of landfills, like half-full paint cans, children's party decorations,
broken curling irons, etc. So you may give your items away or sell
them. You may give them away on in this group (yourcheapcyle) if you
wanna. Please include shiping charge in your post. Main rule keep
items eather free or charge whatever you want.

A new alternative to the HIGHLY moderated freecycle groups in Mid-
