Re: [a2b3-coworking] state of the ann arbor coworking world

Ed:

Thanks for the report.

I had been thinking about organizing a Tuesday or Wednesday lunch at Eastern Accents. Slightly different crowd from A2B3, more of a Connect A2 crowd. And an alternative for anyone who is booked up on Thursday. Eastern Accents has great food, but is slow for lunch business. So I can of look at this as bringing awareness to a new local restaurant restaurant, and providing another opportunity for people to collaborate, get to know eachother and share information. A2B3 lunches rock (and are quite successful).

Do you have any advice suggestions in launching this new lunch venture?

Derek

Some sort of state of the world report:

Wednesday coworking is going pretty well at Primo Coffee; it's running
mornings from 830ish to noonish.  People actually get things accomplished
during this time.

Thursday lunches at Eastern Accents are some of the same collection
of people, though not entirely so; the mailing list from that group is
busy enough that I had to moderate it.  No actual work gets done,
though people do regularly recruit people there for projects.

Friday coworking at Pure Visibility is going on now - there were about
10 people through the office today, including a kid playing with the toys.
The room we use has people sitting reclining with laptops in their laps.
There is a "library" which could be used for things where you actually
are sitting at tables, but that hasn't happened yet.

Dianne Marsh at SRT Solutions is talking about coworking space, but
I don't think there is something definite yet.
