Re: Maps, modeling and such

Dear Donald,

My last deleted post was uncalled for, and totally out of line,
and I wish to apologize to everyone who had been offended by it. I
hope everything will work itself out, and on a lighter note, I did
stop by Brady, TX where the Gulf, Colorado, and San Saba Railroad
company is head quartered and got to see the Brady Depot. It's in
fine shape, and is rented out for special occasions under lock and
key with good security. I met a guy on a smoke break who did not
like rail fans, but told me, a few things that made sense, the hot
weather makes the rails warp and bend really bad, and the cross ties
need to be replaced due to cracking and the current fleet of engines
can operate at speeds of only 10 to 13 mph. I only pray I become a
venture capitalist or some super mega trillionaire, that can afford
to replace 220 million NEW cross ties, ballast, and high grade rails.
Not to mention new engines, and restore service to Brownwood, Menard,
and to San Angelo. My lustful desire? Make Native American Casino
cars, with pole dancer cars, and strip club cars! :) Put some squaws
or women to pole dance, for money, and have casino cars all run by
Native Americans, and also get stimulus grant money, and small
business grants to buy into this small business railroad and make
some money! May even have India Kama Sutra Cars, adult XXX theater
cars with 21 and above and tight security to keep kids out. :)

At any rate, I contacted BNSF to see if they can find some maps of
the railroad of the 1950's that had connections from Brownwood to
Brady, to Menard? No word yet, being the weekend.

Shavuah Tov,

are these days.  While I have access to elevation maps of the old CGW and a copy
of the last C&NW track profile book, plus, living two blocks from the CGW, I use
that along with slides I took plus old photos I find online or from friends.
I'm currently working on an N scale layout that while it will use some
recognizible things, it is freelanced.  That way, while I am planning on a 1950s
theme with 40 foot boxcars and nothing better than a GP-7, some semi-modern
stuff may creep in now and again.

Andy Andreessen always stated, "Railfanning is SERIOUS business!"  Quite the
card, Andy.  Take what you want from photos, footwork (that's called exercise
and gets you points with doctors, wives and others) and research in this forum
and such.

explain the live Playmate to neighbors and family when she goes running for the
paper or mail in, um, rather skimpy apparel...?  Hmm....get the neighbors
talking....PRICELESS!
