The Return of the Sixth Car
**********************************************************************
Notice a little more room on ACE #03 and ACE #04? The Altamont
Commuter Express has added a sixth car to the westbound #03 and the
eastbound #04 train set. The sixth car on the #04 is a temporary move
due to layover issues at the San Jose Diridon Station. Beginning
November 6, the sixth car will be moved to the eastbound #06 train
set.

Vandalism at the Lathrop/Manteca ACE Station
**********************************************************************
On Thursday morning, ACE officials became aware of acts of vandalism
at the Lathrop/Manteca Station. Because of the vandalism, many of the
light posts in the parking lot are without power. No personal or
vehicle harm was caused by the incident. Local law enforcement will
be looking into the matter, and ACE will be working with engineers to
restore power to the affected areas of the parking lot as soon as
possible. Lights on the train station platform remain intact and
operable.

Last Chance to Offer Feedback for ACE Corridor Study
**********************************************************************
As the ACE service approaches the end of its first decade of commuter rail
service to the San Joaquin Valley, Tri-Valley and Silicon Valley, the Regional
Rail Commission is keenly aware of the need to expand the existing ACE service
and to improve the quality of the service to ACE’s passengers. To this end the
Commission appointed consultants to undertake a specific study related to our
current service and our connection with BART in Pleasanton.

This is your last chance to offer much-needed feedback; in December, ACE's
consultants will present their final report to the Rail Commission with
recommendations based upon the above listed study plans. Before members of the
board approve any changes or updates to ACE's current services, they will want
to hear what the public has to say about the proposed changes. Whether you are
a regular passenger or someone who has never riden before, ACE needs to hear
from you; please take a moment to submit your feedback.

Attention ACE Bike Locker Patrons
**********************************************************************
Locks on ALL bike lockers at the following stations will be replaced
on November 19, 2006: Stockton, Lathrop/Manteca, Tracy, Vasco Rd.,
Livermore, and Pleasanton. Bike lockers are increasing in popularity,
and if you are not using your locker we would like to allow others the
opportunity. If you plan on continuing to use your bike locker, you
MUST contact Julie at ACE headquarters by phone (209) 944-6232 or by
email julie@... in order to receive a new key. If you do not
plan on using your bike locker anymore, you MUST turn in your key to
Julie by contacting her at the above number and email.

Whether you plan on returning your key or keeping your bike locker,
we must hear from you by Friday, November 17, 2006. Again, ALL bike
lockers at the stations listed above will be outfitted with new locks
on November 19, 2006.

MTC to Survey Passengers Onboard ACE
**********************************************************************
The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), in partnership with
ACE, will be conducting a survey to understand better who takes public
transportation in the area and to better serve riders. The survey
will only take a few moments to complete and participants will be
selected at random. MTC will not be collecting information about
personal identity, and the data collected will be anonymous and
analyzed and reported in aggregate.

MTC will be conducting the passenger survey on November 14, 2006, and
it is unclear at this time which trains will be involved.

ACE to Hold Second Public Forum in Tracy
**********************************************************************
The Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) will be holding a follow-up public
forum to that which was held on October 2, 2006. The forum will more
than likely be held in conjunction with a regularly scheduled Tracy
City Council meeting in the very near future. Detailed information
will be available soon - stay tuned.
