According to recent ACE passenger satisfaction surveys, the majority of our
riders are satisfied with the manner in which they purchase tickets to ride the
train. That said, we want to know if there are ways we can improve upon the
system.
As you may know, we have been considering implementing a fare payment system
similar to what is currently used in the Sacramento and Bay Areas. With these
systems, a smart card is issued with a pre-loaded or ready-to-add cash value.
We need a small collection of people to act as a focus group for proposed
changes to the way fare media is sold and collected. We need a dozen passengers
to lend their time – mainly by phone or email – so that we can gauge the
general interest of passengers in alternative ways we may sell and check
tickets.
