ACE ticket sales will not be available at the Pleasanton Station for
the afternoon of February 14, 2007. Please make a note of this
temporary closing.

2007 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) Public Survey
**********************************************************************
The RTP is the transportation planning document covering the period of
2007-2030, and will provide a comprehensive framework for long range
transportation planning and guide public policy decisions regarding
transportation expenditures and financing. The set goals are a
reflection of the values that the region holds. ACE, in partnership
with the San Joaquin Council of Governments, would like to ask you
what you value when you think about the future of the transportation
system. We want your input to ensure that the goals meet your
expectations and reflect your values as you think about transportation
in San Joaquin County. We want your opinion!
Please complete and return this survey no later than February 28,
2007. Email the survey, fax the survey to (209) 944-6233, or deliver
the survey to SJRRC/ACE headquarters.

New Employment Opportunities Available at ACE Headquarters
**********************************************************************
As ACE continues to grow, new positions are becoming available! Are
you interested in being part of this progressive team? The following
positions are now open:
**********************************************************************
Wireless Internet Update
**********************************************************************
We are making progress on the Wi-Fi installation. The system has been
available on trains 3 and 6 as our vendors continue to configure and
troubleshoot the system. This week a gateway was installed on trains 7
& 2 and we anticipate having gateways installed on the remaining
consists by next week. We have some volunteers that are riding the
train and providing immediate feedback to our vendors when issues
arise. We are still trying to evaluate bandwidth needs for the entire
service.
We understand the importance of this service to our passengers and
will continue to work hard on making Wi-Fi fully operational. During
the final installation phases there might be some interruption as our
vendors work on different train sets.
Thank you for your understanding and patient as we work to complete
this project.

Sign Up for ACE's Alert Systems
**********************************************************************
Up-to-the-minute alerts are available for passengers when train delays
are expected. Sign up for ACE's alert systems and be kept "in the
loop" when circumstances force inevitable delays. The Altamont
Commuter Express has two alert systems in place.
The ACE Email Alert will be sent via email when delays of 15 minutes
or longer are anticipated. The ACE Email Alert system will only work
on devices that will receive emails.
The ACE Call Alert will be dispatched via telephone when delays of 30
minutes or longer are anticipated. The ACE Call Alert system will be
initiated with the onset of a major event, such as derailments, major
weather disruptions, fires, and other delays.
The ACE Operations Center reminds passengers that these are estimated
delays only based on the current information available.
To sign up for one or both of these lists, please click on the link
below in order to be directed to the ACE Alerts sign-up page at the
ACE website. All information used to sign-up are treated
confidentially and will not be used for any other purpose than ACE
Alerts.

GeoFocus Update
**********************************************************************
You might have heard a strange voice on the train making various
announcements. This is part of our automated train tracking and
information system. The system uses GPS technology to track and report
the status of our trains. This service was placed in operation last
week. Currently the signs at Stockton are functional. At Lathrop and
Tracy, we are waiting to install a component which should be completed
by next week. The signs at San Jose, Great America and Fremont will
also display ACE train information. (Great America is temporarily out
of service as the controller is being repaired).
Besides the automated train and station announcements ACE has the
ability to send relevant operational information to any of the signs.
This will be used to better explain train delays and provide
information to the stations.
Currently we are working to install hardware that will provide the
correct volume on board the trains.
ACE welcomes your comments and feedback on the system. Please send
them to comments@...

Important Update for Wheels Shuttle 54 to and from Bart
**********************************************************************
Effective 07/12/07, BART will be leaving the Pleasanton BART Station
about 2 minutes earlier than posted. The trains coming back at night
will be running 5-7 minutes late.
This is due to the fact that they will be running on single track from
Pleasanton to the new BART Station just past Pleasanton. We will do
everything possible to insure that everyone makes their connections.
According to BART, these new times will be on the new BART schedules
in January. This will be in effect until late 2009 until the new
station is complete.

ACE Town Hall Meetings
**********************************************************************
Would you be interested in attending an open forum in the future?
Town Hall meetings are sometimes an excellent way for the community to
meet ACE administration and hear about the latest agency information.
If a Town Hall meeting is something that you could commit to
attending, we'd like to hear from you!
What day of the week would be best?
What times would be best?
What locations along the route would be beneficial?
