Yahoo Groups restored the ability to save attachments online back in March
and gradually rolled it out to all the groups.
However, it works a bit odd. The group moderator has the ability to choose
one of *three ways* to handle all messages with attachments.
1. The attachment can be saved online and NOT sent with the emails.
"This new feature allows for attachments to be stored on the groups site
instead of being sent out in emails. This allows for digest users to
review/receive the attachments, and, makes it easier to retrieve specific
attachments long after a thread has died as they=92re accessible in the
=93Attachments=94 link in the left hand column. Attachments share data spa=
ce
with photos, so you now have 100 gigs of storage."
2. this option attaches the attachments to the emails, but does NOT retain
them online.
3. This option excludes attachments completely, NOT online and NOT with
emails.
There is no option to send the attachments with emails and also retain a
copy online.
At the group's web page there is now a menu item on the left for
"Attachments".
