hello freelancers! hope your day is going great! it is almost 50 degrees outside today! wooo hooo! I am doing the happy dance!

Kelly celebrated her 16 bday yesterday and even tho she is under the weather had a great day! :) she got flowers at school & at dance, her guitar that I ordered from the GDA on the forum (thanks purple eagle) arrived in grand style, balloons were delivered and i brought her pizza & wings to school to share w/ her friends. She is also going to open her first checking account with the bday money I gave her and we all went out to dinner at buffalo wild wings! its another BEAUTIFUL day in the neighborhood as mr. rodgers would have said! the sun is shining and OMG I have the door open for some fresh air! :)

We began a NEW freelancebyu contest today READ under "list & site news" for details!

TAXES, TAXES, TAXES! now that I have done 3 sets of taxes for others I need to buckle down and do some work on my own, YIKES mine are a BEAR and time consuming! I will be working on them this weekend and will not be sending out a newsletter again until MONDAY, but I will be on the lookout for any GDAS and send them and maybe fooling around on the forum a bit!

I haven't had the time to actually sit down and watch the movie that kelly and I were extras in but I am getting some GREAT FEEDBACK from freelancers and family that are saying WOW what a GREAT FLICK! :) I cannot wait! I did however make time to watch SURVIVOR and wont reveal anything here for those that tape and watch later but I will say that I wasn't sad about "who" got voted off! :)

awwwwwwwwww man poor kelly is home again sick today! she will have TONS of work and quzzes to catch up on when she is back on her feet again, this flu or bug that she has kept her out of school 4 days in the past two weeks and she has had 2 trips to the DR!

It is rainy today but supposedly will get NEAR 70 degrees this weekend! I would love to take a road trip but I am behind on so many things not sure that I could swing it?

My DD in NC is expecting again! she is due in AUGUST! I have known about this awhile but we were waiting for her to get past the "miscarriage possibility stage" before letting everyone know due to her experiences in the past! We will know what she is having in another few weeks! I am very excited! :)

Wow.............the press is going crazy with Mel Gibsons film "the passion" our area and many other areas are selling out EVERYWHERE, the crowd's reaction is OMG what a great film at least that is what they are showing on TV....I think I will wait for the release of the rental...instead of deal with the crowds but sound like a good film and the timing for it is perfect too order the book at no cost above under "goodies" not sure if it is the actual book but claims to be explanatory of the movie

It is SUNNY and Beautiful looking out of my window today but open the door and brrrrr kinda cold. nice to see the light tho....

Kelly is finally on the mend, she is home again today but I think she will be able to go back to school tomorrow, OMG will she eva have lots to catch up on in dance & school! Yikes

I got VERY little sleep last night (about 3 hours) and OMG am I eva tired! It was just "one of those nights" tossing and turning and the body was saying GO TO SLEEP but the MIND was racing, up and down writing notes of THINGS TO DO etc..........so I am going to try and take a happy nappy before Survivor comes on, just one of those self defeating things that happens to me now and then :( but for now I am sucking down the JAVA surfing the net and using my ROBOFORM to fill in the contests and order forms so that I don't make a careless mistake (BTW if you don't have ROBOFORM you should! it is a great f-r-e-e form filler that DOES NOT HAVE ANY SPYWARE connected to it unlike GATOR which slows your computer down and tracks your navigation on the web! HERE IS THE LINKY DINK to download , you will LUV ME for this if you haven't used it before it is a NECESSITY in my book!

SPRING TIME IS COMING! SOON I HOPE! I got a catalog for SEEDS and PLANTS in the mail yesterday that has a $20 no min. purchase required certificate attached to it! DONT THROW this away if you get it! Some neighborhood teens came by yesterday asking if I wanted my car "detailed" :) for $25.00! WELL YES I do! I love supporting kids with a WORK ETHIC and trying to make some xtra money, not to mention if they really do detail the car that would be about a $50 savings to me (if I were to pay to have it done) and WELL worth the $25 to me to have a bright shiney car, cleaned inside and out, without ME having to do it! ..........this is a SPLURGE for me guys............but OMG my car deserves it! :)

omg..........it is pretty enuff to hang clothes outside today and that is what I am going to do , just as soon as i finish here on the pooter! I have the doors open and some windows too! I am loving it!

Kelly got a speaking part in the play MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM she is going to be "cobweb" the fairy, it isn't a "lead" part but she is looking so forward to it! :) I can see her now with her MANE of hair made into cobwebs! I will post a pic for you guys! we are really excited about it!

Questions Answered

Q: When I start my computer I get an option to select XP-professional or Win2000 professional, but I don�t have XP installed anymore. I have to choose the Win2000 option or wait for 30 sec and it will start by itself, (Win2000 is default selected). I don�t want this - can I get W2K to skip this intro and be the only system to start up?

A: Right-click "My Computer", Choose Properties ... Advanced ... under "StartUp and Recovery" choose "Settings" ... make changes as necessary.

Q: I have Windows 2000 ... and everytime I boot up my computer, it runs CHKDSK. How can I prevent this from happening?

A: Microsoft has a fix on their web site for this: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;316506 If the above does not answer/fix your problem, try this:

1. Click Start ... Run ... Key in Regedit ...

2.Edit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
3.Change the BootExecute entry from:
autocheck autochk * /.........
To:
autocheck autochk *

If you have scheduled CHKDSK for multiple volumes, there will be an autocheck entry for each volume. Delete the string from the BootExecute registry value for each volume you do not want checked.

Q: I can hear the fans in my tower quite loudly. How can I make the computer quiet?

A: Short of buying a new computer ... :) Actually, most fans that reside inside computers, can be easily removed and replaced with new or reconditioned ones.

Check for specially marked boxes that include a $4 check to be used for books at any of a number of book retailers (B&M stores like Walden, BDalton, Borders, B&N, etc.). The cehck is good until the end of the year. Also included in the package was a 75cent coupon for several types of "store brand" OJ. Hello Freelancers! Hope you have a Great Day! I am getting this out EARLY this am cuz I am BUZY as a BEE doing some Stuff with my taxes, I just dont understand that AMORITIZATION stuff, so I am going to read up on it and figure it out where I can get these out ASAP and then do my quarterlies, WHAT A PAIN! When you do mystery shopping and merchandising they pay you 1099 so MOST of my "income" is that way so I have to pay taxes on it cuz it is like a full time job but the good news is you get to claim ALL of your expenses from home, car, mileage, computer etc..............I also claim my $ from Ebay, Tupperware, surveys and from the website so there is lots to keep up with.

I will be checking back online from time to time just in case there are any GDAS to be posted! :)

Captain Ruby Red has been FIGHTING a TERRIBLE computer virus that she got from SURFING THE WEB somehow and it caused several other virus's to occur , she is having to reformat her computer to get rid of it and hopefully no damage was done to her actual computer. She will have update and information about this to share with everyone when she gets back online. HOW FRUSTRATING this has been for her OMG

FRUGAL JOURNAL: yesterday I treked over to Food Lion and got 3 more of the F-R-E-E Michella Greek Salads (sure wish I could find the SW style - still looking!) and A TMF Great Starts Breakfast and a TMF Healthy Choice Dinner (new entree SMP) CAN YOU SAY "F*R*E*E FOOD? all rang up separately so I scored the package, sent in the rebates ASAP so I wouldn't forget. I came home and the box man visited me with my OM order so I promptly filled out the $40 rebate on the leather chair, and then the $10 rebate on the PS2 Hobbit . Now I have more goodies to list on EBAY! DINNER was "leftover night" don't wanna throw any food away in this house LOL! My mailbox had some checks from survey, mystery-shop, merchandising and a rebate sooo more $ to by more TMF items!

Clear Channel Radio is collaborating with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for a four-market promo timed to high school proms. The MADD BuzzFree Prom urges teens in Chicago, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio to sign a PROMise to Keep it Safe pledge. In exchange, they get a BuzzFree ID good for discounts on prom-related merchandise and entertainment. MADD hired The Xelerate Group, Addison, TX, to recruit retailers and local marketers to sponsor the effort and provide discounts for BuzzFree ID holders. The new soft drink, Pepsi Edge, rolls out late this summer. It contains 50% less sugar, carbohydrates and calories than Pepsi. The new drink has 70 calories and 20 grams of sugar in each 12-ounce can. A combination of Splenda and high fructose corn syrup was used to reduce the calories and sugar, the company said. Six lawsuits were filed in federal courts in California, Virginia, Georgia and Washington state, according to news reports. The suits cover a range of federal and state laws, including organized crime statutes, trespass and trademark infringement. The suit claims that the defendants falsified return addresses, used misleading subject lines and routed messages through other computers, the report said. The Can Spam Act, passed last year, took effect Jan. 1. The measure establishes the first national standards for commercial e-mail and includes tough civil and criminal penalties. The Act requires senders of commercial e-mail to include an enforceable opt-out mechanism, prohibits false and deceptive headers and subject lines and increases monetary damages imposed on spammers who engage in particularly nefarious spamming techniques.
