I've been with Geico until I got married.
When I called them to renew after the wedding, they asked me if there
was any changes in my marital status, I said yes, and then they asked
for my husband's name, etc, looked up his pretty crummy driving record
and increased my quote for the renewal by about $300.
My pleas that I drive a stick-shift and my husband doesn't know how to
drive stick, therefore he'll never drive my car - were futile - they
said they don't do 'driver exclusions', even if the driver does not
know how to drive my car.
This made no sense, I didn't want to increase my payments by $300 just
because now we're married, so I found a company that did do a 'driver
exclusion', so now my husband is 'excluded' from my policy, and I pay
my old, pre-marriage premiums.
Too bad I couldn't stay with Geico - I really liked their customer
service, they were always prompt, nice, etc..
