There are currently about 600 people on the list, a number of whom are

silent. The group is here to discuss any topics in relation to LTA aircraft

(Lighter Than Air). This includes Hot Air Balloons, Gas Balloons, Airships,

and Hot Air Airships.



Please include any material which you feel might be of interest. The group is

unmoderated so be on your best behaviour! We have had factual posts, requests

for advice/information and reports from around the world at ballooning events.

Many people wish to use articles posted here in newsletters and other

publications. After some discussion, it was decided that email on this mailing

list should not be considered in the 'public domain'. Would everyone therefore

please get the permission of the author(s) before using 'balloon-mail'

anywhere else.



There is no official archive for this mailing list, although some members keep

old messages. There is however a small anonymous FTP site where a few pictures

of balloons are held, called the Internet Ballooning Family Album. It can be
