One of the most critical point in the software lifecycle is the translation of the physical "real-world" business model to a model that can be successfully translated to an automation model (e.g. a CRM application). From juggling business needs and wants with practical and cost-effective technological solutions, the modern-day business analyst treads a fine line between the often warring factions of business, the IT department and finance. Throw in a little politics and a wide scope to affect the entire project with one missed requirement, or misunderstanding and the damage can be immense.

This group has been set up to discuss any and all issues and challenges facing business analysts. We hope to be able to discuss skills, techniques and best-practice in a friendly community where everything that affects business analysts, from office politics to persuasion, from proposals to plans and architecture can be aired.

Although a UK-based group, other constructive contributions from other countries are also welcome. This is an unmoderated group, but reasonable standards of behaviour are expected.

It would be appreciated if new members would make at least an initial post introducing themselves to the group.
