GUIDELINES FOR CABJ LISTSERVE

As CABJ moves toward expansion of the Web site, in the interim the following guidelines will be in use for the Listserve and CABJ chat rooms.

These guidelines are borrowed from other listserves and from suggestions made by members of the CABJ listserve.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this listserve is to provide a forum for black journalists and prospective journalists to discuss issues related to journalism and to CABJ. The listserve is not a general interest chat room.

CONTENT:
The advertising, marketing or sale of products and services is not permitted. Job postings in the field of journalism that might interest listserve members are welcome.

Journalism comes first. There are other listserves, discussion groups and bulletin boards where non-journalism topics are discussed, including many developed for African Americans. This is not to say that from time to time, a discussion of lighter subjects is not warranted or desired, but primarily the focus here is journalism.

Add to the discussion. Responses that say no more than "amen" or "that's right" or "I agree" fail to ad
