Sr. IT Analyst, Timber Marketing
Columbia Falls, MT
Primary Function:
Hands-on leader with broad skills who is focused on adding value through the delivery of Information Technology solutions and is proactive in taking responsibility for tasks ranging from solving a technical issue to consulting with management on potential future projects.
Ensures business line receives high quality information technology services whether software, reporting, hardware or networking through facilitation and proactive problem solving.
Leads the team that provides technology services to the business line. Develops, manages, coaches, and mentors people, particularly direct reports, to continuously improve their skills and service levels.
Leads all sizes of IT projects and teams from beginning to end. May serve as project manager of technical, functional or external resources for large scale projects. May serve as quality control on a number of smaller projects running concurrently and managed by others that may or may not be direct reports.
Develops and documents deep knowledge of Plum Creek business processes, and the information systems that support those processes.
Provides vision for information technology direction and opportunities for business line. Works closely with business line to understand business strategy and ensure information technology opportunities support the business strategy implementation.
Requirements
Analysis and Design:
The successful candidate will have deep systems analysis and design experience in the business processes, workflows, and collaboration requirements of Timber Marketing and similar related systems.
Enterprise-level systems and data integration experience required.
Experience with collaboration and workflow tools is required.
Experience with master data management is a plus. Experience leading technical professionals and outsourcing relationships is required.
Experience with SharePoint is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Forestry, or similar degree preferred plus Information Technology experience.
Experience:
Minimum five years information technology experience strongly preferred. Ideal candidate will have extensive experience in development, business process, technical support, and business relationships. Successful candidate could have depth in one or more areas, but should have exposure and understanding of other areas.
Leading complex information technology projects from beginning to end.
Leading information technology projects that require functional and technical integration across multiple business segments.
Eliciting functional and system requirements from business customers, analyzing results and translating into functional design.
Implementing both packaged and custom-developed systems across a broad array of business areas.
Experience in Business Intelligence areas of enterprise-wide data and system integration and master data management.
Experience in one or more of the following forest industry areas considered a plus: marketing, finance, resource management, forestry, and/or manufacturing.
Skills:
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with non-technical business customers, technical team members and management.
Business process knowledge & analysis. Demonstrated ability to develop (and document) deep knowledge of complex business processes across different industries and subject matters (e.g. purchasing, production scheduling, processes that are esoteric and unique to specific industries and companies), and the ability to creatively translate that knowledge into value-added Information Technology solutions. Must be able to lead business requirements discussions with customers across multiple locales/regions with varying business processes and find design solutions that work across our technology enterprise system.
Software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology. Knowledge and experience with packaged and/or custom systems implementation methodology, including business case development, analysis, design, training, testing, and support. This position will collaborate with the business line functional lead in the development of business cases, process definitions, and functional requirements. This position will have primary responsibility for the functional design phase and the associated business process documentation and technical specifications.
Project management: advanced skills and experience executing the methodology, leading teams, and managing IT projects from beginning to end. Activities include: mentoring and coaching teams; developing and managing task and resource schedules; documenting, tracking, and resolving issues; documenting project status and communicating project status to management. Must have the ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities concurrently.
Application development experience including code and report development.
Strong technical background and database experience. Sufficient knowledge to prototype Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD's) and/or analyze a database to determine the underlying business process that the system supports.
Strong ability to facilitate and manage knowledge. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to all levels of technical and non-technical owners.
Ability to collaborate with a variety of personalities and skill sets, and improve the quality of IT processes, services and products.
Ability to manage a diverse workload and work under time constraints. Expect heavy workloads during project development and implementation.
Salary Range : $58,200 to $77,300, plus 28% bonus opportunity. Relocation allowance is available for this position.
