Cascade Farmstead sheep are a fleece and meat breed of sheep that fill a niche for small farmers and subsistence homesteaders that need an easy-care, small, yet very productive breed of sheep that does well on pasture, without any need for grain feeding. Derived from several ancient northern short tailed breeds and developed in the USA by small farmers for small farmers, these sheep are are self shedding, have naturally short tails, produce lambs by one year of age, and the lambs reach a nice size for butchering by their first autumn.
