Welcome to the Change your Union group-Bulletin Board This is an interactive board where we will discuss the challenges that face UAW Local 1853 and its membership. It is our intent and goal to improve conditions within our local for the benefit of ALL of the Rank and File.

Local 1853 is only a "shadow" of its former glory and if we don't as a union take an active role in taking back and giving control to the people, the future of Local 1853 is bleak at best. A loss of nearly 4,000 jobs in 6 years shouldn’t be progress to any of us.

It is our goal to re-focus all of the Union leadership on their real job, representing the people that THEY work for, that would be you and I, the members of Local 1853.Remember we elected them to serve our needs, not their own.

We are here to discuss UNION business, if you have a complaint with either GM or local mgt take it up with them in the form of a registered letter (otherwise they can claim they never got it.)
