There's a concise booklet in the Indiana Room in Noblesville that is a good overview of Victorian Commercial Architecture throughout the state, including a simple annotated drawing of many common architectural features across the myriad Victorian-era styles.

From another book there, I also uncovered the origin of the "Zionsville Theme." It would appear to be a term that was birthed during the 1960s era revival of downtown.
"Shop proprietors ad building owners agreed to adopt a theme for the downtown in an effort to create a unique atmostphere. Storefronts were reconstructed in Colonial and Early American formats through private investment. . . . Most new construction was built largely in conformity with the artificially created image."(Centers of Attention: Indiana's Downtowns. State Planning Services Agy, 1980. pp 20-21)
