Subject: [Comten Alumni] My House
Dear John:
I guess summer's hot weather is gone for this year. The evenings are
getting down in the 50's now and the days are only getting up to 75 or 79. A
rather short summer.
I rececived a letter from my attorney here telling me that there will be a
hearing in the Aitkin Court House August 31st and that I don't need to attend.
All that legal jargon I don't know, so I called to find out what it was all
about.
Because Mark didn't have a will and he was holding the house for me (so if
I had to put Arne in a Nursing Home, I didn't have a house to sign it over to
them so they owned it and use it for payments). Anyway, she had made a request
for the house to legally be put back in my name. Now why didn't Jim Piazza do
that? I am going to send him a letter "to get of the pot and finish Mark's
estate. It is over three years.
So I just finished a letter to him and I didn't mince words. How far it
will get me is another question. I told him that when those stocks were signed
over to me, they were in Aunt Ruth's name, it only took a day to do it. The
same with when we signed them over to Mark to hold for us; it only took a day
to do it. I told Piazza that if he can't find the time to do this, to give it
to Jason; he is in the stock business. So we will see what will happen.
A man we have know ever since we moved up here died last night. Heard it
at Bible study this morning. The funeral will be Monday; visitation at 10:00
a.m. and the funeral at 11:00 a.m. I have Writers meeting at 12:30 p.m. There
is always a lunch after the funeral so I will be staying for that and will see
what time it is; if it is worth going into town to the Writers meeting. I have
an article that I wrote. I haven't been inspired for a long time. Now that I
have something to read, I have to go to a funeral!
It is supposed to rain this afternoon and evening and it is getting rather
dark outside. I have to have the desk light on here. Even with all the hot
weather and no rain, my grass keeps growing. Maybe that is because of all the
water that is draining into my ditch from Willeys. Their minnow tanks keep
recycling water and the overflow goes past my house via the ditch. But then the
back grows just as fast and it doesn't get that water. Maybe it is all the nice
shade from the trees....they keep growing and are so beatiful.
Guess that is about all I know right now, think I will read the Minneapolis
Tribune and see what more horrible things are happening. All you hear or read
about is disaster. Why don't they print something good once in awhile. I am
sure there is a lot of good stuff that is happening. Oh, well, I'll make myself
a cup of tea, Tao will curl up on my lap (he always has to read the paper with
me) and I will read all the horrible stuff and thank God that I live in
Minnesota!
So take care and I love you.
