There is a COMTEN 4565 preserved forever on film in the movie "The Blues

Lisa,

I still have several of the Comten monthly magazines (the Wire-Rap if I recall
-- that's soooo dated isn't it?). If you are looking for information on the
history of Comten, these might help. Let me know what you're interested in.

I have about a hundred pictures of when Craig Bjorklund and I traveled to Brazil
to meet with Bradesco Bank and several other customers. I have lots and lots of
pictures of Informatica's facilty, equipment, and staff. I will try to scan in
the pictures and send to Dave Steward to post. We had a great trip. Marc Frieman
(I believe that was his name - my memory fails me at the moment) was there too.
I am sitting here laughing at some of the pictures because Craig had such a good
sense of humor and we took some funny pictures.......when we were not working of
course.

Regards Rod.

Does anyone out there know the whereabouts of any of the Brazilians who trained
here in MN on the Comten equipment? I was a hardware instructor for many years
and got to know quite a few of that crew. I've often wondered about them but
have no contact info. I'm especially interested in finding Jose Prata and
Oliviera, but any person or any starting point will do. An e-mail address
perhaps? Thanks.

Hi Lisa,

Check the following URL: http://www.geocities.com/Comten_alumni/History/

This site has a pictorial history of the Comten Front End Processors, but no
written history. One was to have been written, but has never been completed.

This site (http://www.geocities.com/Comten_alumni) also has many photographs of
the people of Comten, some that Mort may remember.

We have just been informed that Lee Wright passed away this morning,
February 20th, 2009.

Lee had been on dialysis for quite some time and decided to finally
pull the plug at the end of January. True to the fighter that Lee
always was, he managed to last twenty days, when he was only given
four to seven days by the medical staff.

We will get and update out, as soon as it's available, with the
obituary and any service arrangements.

Lee will be missed by all of us who knew him well!

Hello Comteners,

Greetings to all and sorry for the lengthy silence. I hope that you
are all enjoying the lovely fall weather and remember you only have a
few more days to enjoy the campaign ads. I am sorry to report that
Nicholas Reamer, son of Tim Reamer of Comten development, is once
again battling cancer after a period of remission. Nick recently had
surgery and you can read about it on his Caring Bridge site at:

http://www.caringbridge.org/

Simply enter nicholasreamer as one word in the search window. We will
be holding a Comten gathering and fundraiser for Nick on November 15
at 3:00 at our house at 3320 West Owasso Blvd, Shoreview. Please
attend to catch up with your former colleagues and to help Nick.
Please bring your own beverages and something to share. You can also
contribute by sending donations to:

Nick Reamer Cancer Fund

13010 Taylor Street NE

Blaine, MN 55434.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible and assisting the
Reamer's with the enormous bills they face as a result of Nick's
battle with cancer. Thank you.

Brian B.
