Antiquarian and artisan with a decidedly unique contemporary flair, the Aquarian Apothecary is a fresh take on an old concept. Apothecaries were the chemists and pharmacies in the days of old; one could go in and find preparations and remedies for myriad maladies of the day.
Updated for the children of the Information Age, the Aquarian Apothecary offers oils to soothe the ailments that affect the savvy citizen of the 21st Century.
Asphalta Asphalta is the revered goddess of plentiful parking spaces. Anoint your car, keys or a chunk of asphalt placed inside of your vehicle to honor Her. Be sure to stay on Her good side by leaving Her favorite offerings for favors granted: fine chocolates and the occasional latte.

The Sun, Earth and Moon align in space allowing the mighty light of the full Moon to surrender and submit to the shadow of the Earth. Magickally, it is oftentimes considered a "micro month" where all lunar phases happen during the duration of the eclipse.
Whether an eclipse is a time to practice magick is up for the practitioner to decide, but few can dispute the power that the eclipse brings.
Tonight, during the eclipse, I will be preparing an oil to harness the energy of the event. Blending rare oils sacred to the Moon in all Her lunar phases including: jasmine sambac (known as "Queen of the Night"), Mysore sandalwood (sacred to many lunar Gods and Goddesses) and Bulgarian rose (reputed to enhance clairvoyance and meditation.) The perfume will then be transfered into a crystal bottle and exposed to the changing light of the eclipse itself.
After the eclipse has ended, the fragrance will then be placed in the dark and will be allowed to mature until the new Moon It will then be decanted into cobalt blue 5ml bottles with a beautiful, glossy full color label depicting the eclipse.
I will only be making a very small batch, so if you're interested in obtaining a bottle of this special oil (I believe the next total lunar eclipse won't happen until December 21, 2010!) please contact me at my email address and I will provide you with payment information.
The cost will be $30 for 5ml, shipping included, and will include a moonstone, labradorite and quartz crystal lunar charm that will be exposed to the energies of the eclipse as well. I will tuck the bottle in a protective black velvet pouch before it's shipped out to you.
This oil will be perfect for use during all phases of lunar workings as well as anointing all lunar amulets and jewelry. It will also be well-suited for workings dealing with transitions of all kinds.
Please email me at vajra (at) conjureoils (dot) com if you're interested.
Thank you and have a blessed Full Moon and Eclipse!

I have had several emails come in looking for your Black Friday orders. Thank you so much for checking up on me! I was stricken with pleurisy and perhaps a form of walking pneumonia and was down for the count for quite some time!
But... They are all packed and ready to go! I have a huge sack of orange envelopes and one big box ready to go out out out!!! I feel like Santa Claus!
I really am sorry to make you all wait, but it's only me steering this ship and when the Cap'n is down, the ship don't go! I get some volunteers from time to time, but really, it's just me. I don't have a business partner, or any employees. I go to graduate school, work for the co-op from time to time, volunteer at the acupuncture clinic and sometimes help out my godmother with her business! I am a wicked-busy monkey!
But I've given all the orders a fantastic coupon and a super yummy freebie and I've been adding artwork to the some of the bottle labels, so hopefully it will be well worth your wait!
After these shipments go out, I'll be all caught up, so if you want to get in an order to be delivered by X-mas, I need it by tomorrow so I can ship it on Tuesday.
Thanks again everyone for not cursing my name and being so wonderfully patient!
All the best,
Vajra

(India)
a Hindu ceremony performed on the second day after Diwali in which siblings honor and celebrate one another. Ded Moroz, or Father Frost, is a character akin to Santa Claus in the Ukraine and other parts of Eastern Europe. He delivers gifts in person to children with his granddaughter Snegurochka,"Snow Maiden", donning his heel-length, crimson fur lined coat, hat and valenki boots. Celebrate a true Ukrainian Christmas with perennially popular Eastern European cookies baked special for Ded Moroz and Snegurochka! Cut into rounds, stars, or crescents, they are often hung on the lower branches of the Yule tree as treats for the younger children

contributed by Jennifer Tonapi, Ohio, USA
Festival of Lights
(Israel)
Hanukkah, the Hebrew word sometimes translated as "dedication" or "consecration", is celebrated on the 25th day in the month of Kislev, falling anywhere between late November to late December. It is marked by lighting candles each night on the Menorah just after dusk to invite miracles, wonders and to express gratitiute.

Misa del Gallo
(Latin America)
Misa del Gallo, or "Roosters Mass" is a name used in Latin America for the Catholic Tradition of Midnight Mass. It comes from the belief that the rooster was one of the first creatures to witness and then announce the birth of the infant Jesus.
celebrate midnight mass in an ancient cathedral: dark amber, sweet myrrh, olibanum, candle smoke wafting heavenward, raw chocolate, desert chaparral and sweetgrass
Contributed by Gary Lordato, North Carolina, USA
Oshogatsu
(Japan)
Spent with family and generally lasting about six days, Oshogatsu, or Japanese New Year, is easily one of Japan's most elaborate festivals. Traditions of cleansing and purification are practiced prior to the holiday to make room for a fresh new year, opening wide the doors to luck, happiness and prosperity
ring in the new: cherry blossoms, green tea, sweet red bean paste accord, rice flowers, bamboo, purifying hinoki and sacred cedar
Contributed by: Karen Shibuya, Virginia USA
Saint Lucia
(Scandinavia)
Observed on December 13 in Scandinavian countries, it is the Feast Day of Saint Lucia, whose name means "light".This is represented in the yearly tradition of choosing one lucky little girl to wear a flowing white gown, don a glowing candle-studded crown and lead a line of candle bearing maidens trailing behind her to represent Saint Lucia overcoming the darkness of her blindness. The Saint is often portrayed holding a golden plate containing her own eyes that some say were plucked out by enemies, yet other sources claim that she gouged them out herself. It is of no surprise then that she is venerated at the darkest time of the year
an illuminating blend offering the sweet scent of lucia yeast buns baked with cardamom and saffron then slowly drizzled with sweet orange glaze rounded out with just a hint of lingonberry twigs from the candle wreath warmed by the candle's steady glow

Have a beautiful season! Congratulations and many thanks to everyone who contributed!
Just wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow, November 15th, is the last day to order the Hallows scents before they are gone forever to make way for the highly anticipated Yule 2007 line!
As a special for you kind folks who read my online updates: If you order a sampler during these final days of the Hallows line and find that would like a larger size, I'll keep that option available until December 15th. You can order on the Conjure Ltd. page.
Between the Worlds
crimson apples, ruby pomegranates, sandalwood wood smoke and blood red stygian waters permeate the veil.
Calavera de Azúcar
muscovado sugar, royal icing and meringue powder with a slight hint of metaphysical white musk
Devil's Night Detroit Style
a city wide inferno: smoke swirling around dying fires, charred houses, overturned cars and toppled tombstones
Fires of Azrael
let the Dark angel of the Doors grant you a vision of the past or a premonition of the future. The Fires of Azrael evoke smoldering ashes of a juniper, Himalayan cedar and Egyptian sandalwood fire lit by the seaside at twilight. Inspired by the novel _The Sea Priestess_ by Dion Fortune
Flying Ointment
a completely legal olfactory interpretation of an ancient preparation. Mysore sandalwood, midnight blooming jasmine, opoponax, opium poppy flowers, cannabis scent and a pinch of mugwort herb. Who needs a broom?
Ghoul Booty
remember digging into those sacks of candy and gorging until you were sick? Here's a treasure trove of Ghoulie goodness: candy corn, chocolates, caramels, lollipops and bubble gum. The only cavity you're in danger of getting here is the hole in your wallet from getting more!
Guillotine
"let them eat cake!!" or better yet, indulge in fine chocolate. A pompous fragrance for the discriminating chocolatier - decadent, sophisticated and most certainly bourgeoisie. Opulent in its balance of complexity and subtle florals.
Hänsel und Gretel
a gingerbread house decorated with spice drops and butter cream frosting. The faint smell of a witch's brew filling the enchanted woods and roaring cook stove perfect for roasting a greedy little boy or girl.
Mausoleum
the dusty stillness of the afterlife: emerald moss, black orchids, cold stones and holy water.
Kardec
a fragrance created in honor of Allan Kardec, a turn of the century gentleman who is credited with popularizing the Spiritist movement. "To born, to live, to die, to reborn and to keep progressing. That is the law" is engraved on his burial chamber placed in the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise in Paris, France. This fragrance consists solely of white flowers to please the spirits of the White Table: lily, rose, paper whites, stephanotis and white jasmine.
Poison Apple
the Queen disguised herself as a country woman and convinced Snow White to eat the poisoned apple. Too bad she didn't get to just wear the scent: green apples coated in caramel sprinkled with brown sugar slathered in buttered rum. This takes our apples form the level of tox to a place that rocks! (sorry 'bout the bad pun. It's late!)
Witching Hour
a midnight walk through the pumpkin patch on All Soul's Eve. Spiced pumpkin, falling leaves, a black velvet cloak to pull close for warmth and a frankincense candle offering for the spirits residing in the cemetery near by.
Zolac Manor
far in the darkest depths of North Portland a Mad Scientist throws a Tiki party for vampires. Tropical fruit, dragon's breath. egyptian musk, calla lilies, Hawaiian white ginger and blood sangria.

Conjure Oils is in cahoots with the lovely and talented Renee Bosler to delight you with the weird and wonderful world of the Womberscootch! The Womberscootch perfume is a as rare as its namesake and can only be had through clicking the image below.
Here's Renee's description of the Womberscootch scent:
"This perfume oil and art set is the first in a series of four. This first scent evokes the whimsy of the forest-dwelling womberscootch, and the beauty of the woods it dwells in. The scent is earthy, warm, and woodsy, with touches of allspice and wild berries, apple and cedar woods, moss, pine needles, oakmoss, black pepper, and a touch of sweet vanilla bourbon! Quite simply, Womberscootch smells like eating cookies in the woods!"
Renee is a Gothic Folk Artist based in Portland Oregon.
Yule 2007 Conjure Oils Contest Winners 2007 theme: The World Celebrates!
After pouring through pages and pages of gorgeously crafted, well written, researched and heartfelt entries to the 2007 Conjure Oils Yule Contest, one theme began to emerge from the entries like several strands of fine silk woven together to tie a gorgeous bow: yuletide has no borders; the celebration is global. Many of you sent in very touching stories, pictures and poems with your entries and for that I am glad as it put me in a space of deep awe and gratitude. I am so lucky to be in contact with so many brilliant, creative, artistic and genuine people. Every entry was like a present for me – so I thank you for that gift!
While I wish I could make all the entries come to life, I can only pick a few. The contest was initially designed for five winners, but I couldn't decide on just five, so I expanded it to include seven winners. Good ol' lucky number seven. The blends themselves will be revealed November 15th on the Conjure Oils website, Conjure, ltd. page, so look for the announcement that they are up. Most of the winners submitted several selections, so they don't even know which scent of theirs was chosen! Let the speculation begin! The winners will receive a beautiful clear glass 10ml perfume bottle of their creation as well as a sample of the other blends. Look for my email confirming your contact information.
So, without further ado, the winners are...
*Rebecca Cerio * Julia Ingber * Gary Lodato * Karen Shibuya * Shawna Silverman * Jennifer Tonapi * Lindsay Van Acker * Congratulations!
Again, all the entries were top notch! Thanks for participating and I know you're really going to enjoy these!
Love and light,
Vajra
We here at Conjure Oils wish each and every one of you a haunted

Have a great day and a fantastic evening!
All the best on the precipice of Celtic New Year,

site is marvelous, and wonderous! Had everthin ya need, Now me being
new to makin oils I have many questions. Used to getting my herbs from
a private Botanica, other I get overseas my flymail. But since the
inspection of things being mailed since Big Brother is in full force
sometimes I have to get things in powederd form. For baths.
But I am very much interested, if someone after Nov 2 has time to write
down for me the basics of oils for conjure. Or kindly point me to
websites with instruction for someone who is a novice on making the
oils for their own work, but havin the knowledge already of conjure and
the lwa.
All my Respect,
James
Well, I do believe that the website is fixed. I checked it in firefox, ie and safari and it looks good. I had a dear guardian angel email me last night with some fantastic web pointers that I applied and I guess I flubbed the code up on the first page so it wasn't working for IE, so I had to rewrite it. Again, please please please let me know if something isn't working for you on the website and I'll be glad to fix it immediately.
The reason that I am writing is that it has been a tradition to pick a new sample to send out as the freebie every month. This month, I would like you folks to offer suggestions as to what the freebie for the month of November is. Once I collect all of the information, I'll post a poll. that way everyone can pick their favorite. September's sample was Whore of Babylon. October's is Demeter. What would you like to see for November? Please email your November freebie sample idea to vajra @ conjureoils.com
Are you totally taking advantage of the Apothecary sale? This is, by far, one of my favorite lines.
Also, in other news, I will be discontinuing the free shipping of samplers after the beginning of the new year. The shipping price will be reasonable - $5 for priority mail with a tracking number since so many of you like to have that information with your order. Another option will be $2 for First Class, no tracking. These rates apply to International folks as well. And as old timey as Conjure Oils is, I still need to catch up to the 21st century, no matter how much I'd rather that your packagers were delivered by Pony Express.
Have you seen the Blood Moon so heavy in the sky this month? It's a silvery orb floating in magick and mystery so large it looks like you can lick it. A time for anointing your forehead with jasmine oil and to sip mugwort tea, burn some myrrh incense and see clearly between the veils.
Also, Conjure Oils was once again mentioned in more press in Mlle Noelle's articles. The article is here.
