POSITION DESCRIPTION: Nine-month faculty position at the Visiting
Assistant Professor level in a Construction Management program that
started in the fall of 2002 and has seen continued large enrollment
growth that currently exceeds 350 students. This position reports
directly to the Head of the Department of Construction Management.
Primary responsibilities include: instruction, student recruitment,
student advisement, curriculum, laboratory development, conduct
research through engagement, and establishing valuable relationships
with the construction industry. Candidate should be able to teach in
the primary areas of construction surveying, construction equipment,
and be able to mange the construction capstone course in commercial
construction. The program is in ACCE candidacy status.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: The department seeks an individual
with high energy and motivation to help promote the program at the
national level. Effective communication skills are necessary; be
able to publish in appropriate journals and provide regional
engagement. Willingness to engage in distance education/learning
activities (may include on-line course development and instruction or
off-site course instruction).
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimal qualifications include a Master's degree in
Construction Management, Building Construction, Building Science,
Architecture or related field. Preferred qualifications for
application include a Ph.D./Ed.D. from an accredited institution. A
minimum of three years of professional experience in US construction
is required, preferably at the management level. Teaching
experience at the college level is desirable. Applicants with a
strong architecture background and knowledge of construction are

There will be a maximum tuition and fee scholarship coverage of a

campus as a Graduate Assistant and complete the program in 12-

law, economics, and statistics at the undergraduate level.
