Dear Friends,
We know we're writing with very short notice but we're excited to share that the Landscapes and Lifeskills Course will be running again this year! The write-up attached gives a detailed idea of the scope of the course. However, there will be some changes and new ideas incorporated based on the experience from past years and current possibilities.
One significant change will be in the structure: the time at GBS will be more like an internship than a modular course with a deeper immersion in the working community here. Plenty of diverse opportunities for specific and in-depth study are still available but the course will take shape more spontaneously and based on the participants' interests, motivation and resource person availability. The Himalayan section will remain the same but we hope to extend the time period to 60 days.
There will also be an increase in the overall fee (from that mentioned in the attachment) since living costs are higher in the Himalayan section. We can discuss cost in more detail with interested persons.
We currently have 2-3 young people with a serious interest in participating. We would really like to open up this opportunity to more people. The Himalayan section is only feasible with a larger group (5-8) and the possibilities of the GBS section widen considerably and become richer with a larger group (4-6).
We need your help to make sure we can get word of this opportunity out to people who are seriously interested; and who can benefit from and contribute to such an experience. Please do pass on this information! And please feel free to contact us with any questions, enquiries, etc at these email addresses: jungler@..., chaiti_seth@...
Regards,
Suprabha, Sandy and Chaiti
(GBS education team)
