Whilst you are thinking about stories about the Money Mind you wish to share on
the other thread, one of the implications of our work together is to understand
what Edgar Cahn (inventor of time currency) likes to call the operating system
of society - the work of bringing up families, maintaining neighbourhoods and
communities.
Everyone knows that without a healthy operating system society falls apart.
Continuing the computer analogy, without a properly functioning operating system
none of the specialist programs such as Word etc. can work. So with society.
If the operating system of people running communities is broken then none of the
specialist services of schooling, health, policing etc. will work properly if at
all.
One of the aims of community currency is to strengthen this operating system by
rewarding people for their WORK of maintaining community.
Treat people as assets rather than problems. Name the work that needs doing
then reward it. Give people the chance to both give and take. Create healthy
social networks. It's not rocket science and yet we manage to massively
complicate matters with money!
