Welcome to the Deeshaa Group.

This group is a mailing list of people who are interested
in the goal that Deeshaa Ventures set itself: implementing
the model for rural economic development called RISC--Rural
Infrastructure & Services Commons.

India's economic development is predicated on the economic
development of rural India since the majority of Indians
live there. Rural income opportunity depends on a wide
range of services delivered inexpensively to the population.
RISC is an economic model which is based on the premise that
the provision of services is expedited by the presense of
a standardized infrastructure platform. Given limited
resources, investment in infrastructure provision must be
done efficiently for provision of services to be economically
sustainable. RISC presents a viable schema.

The purpose of this group is provide a platform for people
to discuss topics related to the model and its implementation.
It is our conviction that however daunting the task, it can
be done provided we put our minds to it. This is where our
