CARE International is looking for a Climate Change Advocacy
Coordinator

We are looking for an advocacy coordinator to support the development
and implementation of CARE International's global climate change
advocacy campaign.

CARE's advocacy campaign will focus on the following three policy-
related goals:
o Ensuring ambitious emissions reductions targets;
o Making adaptation funding mechanisms meet the special needs of very
poor, highly vulnerable people;
o Ensuring that poor people can participate in and benefit from
compliance carbon markets

Your main responsibilities will include:
o The development and evolution of CARE's Climate Change Advocacy
Campaign;
o Building external networks and alliances;
o Supporting on communications material;
o Facilitating communications internally and providing guidance and
technical support to the various nodes of CARE involved in the
advocacy campaign;
o Supporting CARE members to integrate climate change in other
relevant advocacy campaigns;
o Preparing updates and reports on the implementation of CARE's
climate change advocacy campaign

As a core member of CARE's Poverty, Environment and Climate Change
Network, you will join a committed team of people working to advance
CARE's programme and policy work on poverty, environment and climate
change linkages.

You have:
o A Masters or PhD in the social sciences;
o Experience developing and implementing advocacy campaigns for NGOs;
o Experience developing and monitoring advocacy performance/result
indicators;
o Ability to facilitate group learning and consensus-based decision
making between like-valued stakeholders from different cultures;
o Ability to build trans-national networks and alliances;
o Ability to write clear, concise reports and to be an effective
public speaker
o Willingness to invest time in learning about the socio-economic
consequences of climate change; Willingness to invest time in
learning about carbon markets

Location of the job is negotiable. Capital city in Europe or
