There are many solutions to datacenters and backups. The number one
point it tht the backups must be kepT offiste. Commercial Storage
companies charge by the number of pickups. Your pickup schedule
depends on the last tape that you can use that will still allow your
organzistion to recover at a point in time that is reasonable.
Foe instance if the data can be 48 hours old then you can schedule
your pickup accordingly.
The second point to remember is the recovery time objective that you
mudst meet in your recovery. If your a trading group then recovery in
minutes or hours is needed. This requires the data to be available
quickly at the Traders Hotsite.
Of course this is all an over simplification. The planning process is
more complicated.
