Sr. Test Engineer (Software)

We are looking for a Sr. Test Engineer (Software Focus) with strong knowledge of
testing web enabled systems, Java, strong troubleshooting skills, and
distributed system test experience. This senior role reports into QA and should
be motivated and willing to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with
aggressive delivery dates, expectations for excellence and high standards for
the creation of quality in all aspects of work.


Duties & Responsibilities

Effectively interface with engineering team by reporting test case results and
defects
Improve the quality of the product through finding a large volume of quality
defects
Author test cases
Interact with stakeholders to get closure on defects
Support performance testing efforts, especially those cases impacting
reliability
Support automation efforts, including test authoring
Willing to lead initiatives and other personnel (mentoring, tasking, etc.)

Job Qualifications

6+ years as a test engineer/test lead (must have)
2+ years Java experience (must have).
2+ years relational database and SQL experience (must have)
Working knowledge of Linux and Windows platforms (must have)
Solid troubleshooting skills (must have)
Solid QA Process Understanding (must have)
Working knowledge with automated testing infrastructures such as Junit, Ant,
Cruise Control, etc. (must have)
Excellent writing and communication skills (must have)
1+ years Python or similar scripting language (Groovy, Ruby, Perl) development
experience (bonus)
Familiarity with testing both hardware and software systems (bonus)
BS/MS in EE and/or CE or equivalent experience.
Ability to work independently from assignment through completion.
Ability to work with smart people to solve complex problems with simple
solutions.
