Hi can anyone tell me if my lathe is rope driven. the drive wheels are all half round rather than v shape or strait for belt drive.I suspect it was rope

yes i thought about that this morning its is a round bed with the solid casting bearings. I was hoping that i could put a centre in the tail stock and go

You don't say what model?, I certainly wouldn't even think bigger reamer, if anything you need to get the headstock line bored or make some new bigger bored
