2008 Prius to use Li-Ion, will EDrive be cheaper?   Message List

Re: 2008 Prius to use Li-Ion, will EDrive be cheaper?

Hi Hadashi,

I haven't even got the car yet! Delivery is slated to be June 16th.
It is to go into to be converted in mid-August, after I've had time to
run the car in.
The company doing the conversion is Nicholson-McLaren in the UK
(www.nicholsonmclaren.com).
As I understand it, you get less performance on LPG, but LPG is
roughly half the price of petrol. That equates to an equivalent cost
of about 60% of that of petrol. I worked out that after 4 years, the
conversion will pay for itself.

Regards,
Susi.

it's been widely reported that the new 2008 Prius will use Li-Ion and get up to 94mpg. Since it's already Li-Ion, any ideas on how much savings there would be?...
