Our client is a global industrial engineering group well-known for its capacity for innovation and technological expertise. Focused on high value added business, the group designs, manufactures and sells capital equipment mainly for the automotive, steel, aluminum, cement and glass industries as well as for the sugar and energy sectors.

Talent Fishers is looking for their Sourcing Manager as a Key support to purchasing development  in China to manage and develop the operations in the greater Shanghai region.

In short term, the Sourcing Manager¡¯s missions will be :

-         At bid stage:

¡¤        Find local suppliers for main equipments in order to get a competitive Chinese price level, which will give to the Group affiliate a very good chance to get the project.

¡¤        In cooperation with potential suppliers, propose the alternative solution according to local know-how, and get better price level, when applicable.

¡¤        Develop partnership with potential suppliers when requested.

-         At project stage:

¡¤        Find local suppliers for all equipment that will be purchased in China.

¡¤        Develop strategy in order to get the best price.

¡¤        Make the follow-up of the Chinese suppliers in order to insure quality and delivery time.

In mid-term, the Sourcing Manager will be able to propose Chinese alternative solutions to the Group affiliates for equipment that are:

-         Recurrent equipment.

-         Creating volume effect by consolidation.

-         High volume for specific project.

-         High competitiveness equipment.

From his studies and/or experiences, the Sourcing Manager shall have a good technical level:

-         Understanding of technical drawings:

¡¤        Assembly drawings

¡¤        Details drawing (machining, welding assembly, ¡­)

-         Knowledge of technical requirement and associated manufacturing equipment:

¡¤        Milling, turning, boring

¡¤        Grinding

¡¤        Welding know-how

¡¤        ¡­..

In addition, the Sourcing Manager shall have Purchasing and Sourcing experience and shall be able to find by himself potential suppliers (already known portfolio or new research) for the following equipment:

-         All size machined pieces.

-         All size welded parts.

-         Steel structure (detail studies / manufacturing / surface protection).

-         Catalogue equipments.

-         Service on site

-         ¡­

The Sourcing manager shall be able to carry out the negotiation with identified suppliers and succeed in getting the most competitive sourcing price.

With Chinese as mother-tongue, the Sourcing Manager shall have the following levels in English:

-         Good English speaking (be able to progress to be fluent in a short term).

-         Fluent English reading.

Able to work autonomously, good teamwork spirit and communication skills

Willing to travel and can work under pressure
