Hi all
This is the 3rd time I have replied to your replies but none of my
previous replies have shown. Thank you for your advice.
I confirm that in Setup/Display the Backlight Level is set to 100% but
I get the same result as Lonnie with his Vista.
It seems pretty silly to me that you can set the level but not have it
when you turn on the unit. All other settings are used so what is the
point of having the adjustment? Perhaps something for the Summit
wishlist?

... Hi John, I bet that if you look in the Setup/Display screen that the brightness setting defaulted back to the zero level when you turned the unit off....

I have the Venture HC and it defaults the lighting on turn-off as well. Really annoying because without the lighting I can't read the screen, even in daylight....
