180020 is now allocated on EN476 from Praha Holsevice at 0340 on the 15th to
Dresden, I assume its being swapped out although it has not got any other
allocations on Lokvorschau.

182001 is showing spare today and all weekend at Cottbus, although as Bob is in
the area he may yet see it turn up on a turn?

also available as 15 and 30 day passes. Only available for foreigners

Phil Richards has kindly agreed to me putting this on ERG with the proviso that
nobody replies via the forum should you be interested.

All REPLIES must be directly to my work e-mail at Atos Origin as in my ERG group
e-mail address, I will only reply during office hours for obvious reasons.

As we are moving office next weekend and the recycling bins are full to
overflowing, my colleagues asked if anyone would be interested in some of the
old European Timetables/Fares Books and CIV manuals that we have in our
cupboards (we have a cupboard full of CIV books that I assume are of no
interest?)that are no longer needed, these date back to our major involvement
with IRS and the last versions that were sent to us by the railway authoritioes
were kept the previous ones were always disposed of.

I am not able to post anything but am happy for anybody who is ineterested to
collect early next week from Kings Cross between 0900-1730 or from Peterborough
as I commute up or down to London.

These are free they were going to be chucked out anyway and it saves us trying
to find yet more recycling bins.

Just had a quick look at Drehscheibe and in one of the Vorschau postings it is
showing that 180020 is booked to work the following tomorrow:

180 020 - 440, 171 Prag-Dresden-Prag; 174, 379 Prag-Dresden-Prag

Actual diagram as posted in CD Gen files is:

EN440 Praha hl.n to Ústí nad Labem hl.n 04.58 – 06.39
EC171 Dresden Hbf to Praha-Holešovice 09.10 – 11.18
EC174 Praha-Holešovice to Dresden Hbf 12.40 – 14.46
EC379 Dresden Hbf to Praha-Holešovice 17.10 – 19.18

Worth keeping an eye on these as Keith posted a CD 372 on this circuit recently.

A new tourist train is to starting running (hopefully) this month between Leon
and Bilbao, El Expreso de la Robla. It will run much in the same format as the
famous El Transcantabrico but targetting a market who haven't the time to spend
the whole week on the train.

When constructed, details should appear here:-

http://www.elexpresodelarobla.com/

Hi all,

A flying visit to Bremen with Ryanair - out on the Tuesday night and back
Thursday morning.

Arrived into Bremen - Hannover services (KBS380) in chaos due to the German
national football team's goalkeeper having thrown himself in front of the 14:40
Norddeich Mole to Hannover Hbf (RE4427).

Wednesday 11th November

101042 Bremen to Münster on the 06:32 Hamburg Altona to Chur.

101017 Münster to Rheine via Osnabrück High level and low level on the diverted
(all ICs booked this way until 22 November) 07:48 Koln Hbf to Norddeich Mole.

101041 Rheine to Osnabrück low level on the 08:49 Schiphol to Berlin Ost.

As I climbed the stairs to the high level - IC334 was passing through the
station having done the low level to high level curve - a train that I rejected
at Rheine.

101014 + 101113 (Top & Tail) Osnabrück to Hamburg Harburg on the 05:30 Nürnberg
to Hamburg Altona

The idea was to look for my last 3 Metronom 246s - 005, 009 and 010.

246004 - Harburg to Hbf on the 1310 ex Cuxhaven.
246005 - Hbf to Harburg on the 17:07 from Hbf
246010 - Harburg to Hbf on the 16:10 ex Cuxhaven
246009 - Hbf to Harburg on the 20:07 from Hbf

Job done ! More jam please

The other ones out were 006 (14:07 ex Hbf) and 003 (16:07 ex Hbf)

There are six per day out - they normally arrive at xx:58 at the Hbf and return
at xx:07/08 back to Cuxhaven. The exception to this is the 11:58 and 19:58
arrivals. The 11:58 arrival does the 20:07 and the 19:58 arrival goes to the
sidings. Easy to work out - look at the arrival and departure boards - if the
platform is different then the loco is. The trains lay over for 80 minutes at
Cuxhaven.

EMU to Altona

182517 - Hamburg Altona to Hbf on the 21:46 to München Ost (TALGO set).

120124 - Hamburg Hbf to Bremen Hbf on the 22:32 Hamburg Altona to Frankfurt.

Hopefully of use to someone

Whilst neither Paul or myself have got around to typing up the CD notes from our
trip last week, a couple of things that were notable from Saturday 07/11 were

750 410 worked the Decin-Bad Schandau shuttles, we did the 1701 from Decin, I
was suitably whithered when stood on the Dresden bound platform a few minutes
after arrival at Bad Schandau and 372 014 arrived on EC379 the 1710
Dresden-Praha part of that diagram, that is the first time I have personally
seen a 372 on these 371 diagrams.

Whilst I appreciate we don't make a point of answering questions via the forum
postings, I can confirm that EN456/457 are booked a 371 to and from Berlin which
hopefully clears up an earlier query with regard to a CLASS sighting at Berlin.

I was also in Berlin over the weekend with friends. We thought the 115 on the
Kiev was 459 but as we were on the way out of the front door en route to the
Brandenburg Tor at the time , we couldn't be certain.

Other things noted of interest were PKP EU43-001 on Seddin depot on Saturday
morning and on Monday afternoon the 0649 ex Schipol (IC 141 ) was hauled by 120
103 rather than the usual 101.

The TER-SNCF website has been give a makeover. All the regiosn appear to no
follwo the same standard.

Once into your region, there is a big 'In one Clic' box in the top left which
offers the choice of 'search for [point to point] itinerary', 'Fiches Horaires'
and 'Products and prices'.

Clicking on Fiches Horaires takes you to the next screen where everything has
been collected together in a vertical menu on the left hand margin, with the
main screen asking you to input the name of a station.

That's all very well, but - testing the Rhone Alps site - half the stations I
input are not there, so hard luck unless you already know your network.

The option is still available to click on the regional map, but again some
stations are not loaded (at least on Rhone-Alpes).

A shortish post, Should save to many sarcastic anti DB comments from Mr Simpson
today (sorry mate!), Charter pair 10008 and 10019 were at Trier on the 31/10

111 115 was on Trier Depot presumably the crew trainer for the work the class
has from this Depot in December.

110 295 was at Cochem on ECS in the sidings

Randomly bumped into Des at Yorma's in Nurnberg that evening.

01/11

110 329 was at Regensburg on a Sonderzug
218 475 was the Nurnberg-Furth Im wald turn 754 060 went forward to Plzen

Thankfully very little engineering work today

08/11

My friends 10008 and 10019 arrived alongside my train at Bochum on a Sonderzug,
I really must research what these ex SBB electrics are booked on as they follow
me around the NRW region whenever I am about.

Heading off on my travels on 31/10 I opted to go via Lux for my last 4000 thanks
GB for the earlier gen on its workings on Thursday it did work and managed to
have 3 class 20's on EC91!

2005 set off and didn't seem to be a problem other than what i assumed was
alittle leaf fall wheel slip, at Jemelle it was topped to arlon by 2021 as the
latter does not have the relevant cab safety equipment for Lux 2001 was provided
as a final replacement 15021 worked forward from Lux.

The by now usual 28's were working the Amsterdam circuit Friday evening and
Saturday morning, no 11's were working.

Two snippets from different sources

28 and 29 November Berlin to Warszawa ECs not calling Frankfurt/Oder and leaving
Berlin GESUNDBRUNNEN/ LICHTENBERG an hour earlier so presume 232s via Kostrzyn?

Deliveries of new Class 440 EMUs for services around Wurzburg and a separate
batch around Passau are late due to non approval of brake components, based upon
a visit to Salzgitter where they are bing built last week, there are plenty of
finished units waiting for approval/delivery - which is said to be days away.
However delivery is max 10 trains a week and presumably there will be driver
training etc required [although some has already been done using Augsburg
units]. So assuming the brake components are approved the loco hauled
substitutes [rumoured as 185s?] may not last long into the new year [on the
other hand maybe like Augsburg it will last months....]

Cheers

02.11 DB

218 448 seen on 1547 Hannover to Bad Harzburg

04.11 DB

115 332 worked EN477 1930 Berlin Lichtenberg to Dresden Hbf

05.11 CD

111 005 worked EN457 from Holesovice to Praha hl n

OBB 1216 210 seen on EC76 Wien - Praha

Visited Line 016 - closure threatened from March. Both trains were fairly busy -
the Moravany - Holice - Borohradek line [18km long] is worked effectively as two
branches with long "connections" between trains

754 030 +754 051 both powering R 798 1537 Letohrad to Praha, 750 162 and 285
also seen on T021

06.11 CD and DB

141 012 R 1155 0727 Usti n Labem to Liberec [only running to from Decin for bus
forward] , the 141 also seen on 05.11 on stock at Usti n L

A different green 141 was on Decin shed

DB

182 001 on training run on RE 26177 Leipzig to Cottbus , many thanks for the gen
via ERG!

182 001 -005 will be used on these services from December, the rest of the class
will switch to DB Regio by Dec 2010 and will be used by DB Regio Nord Ost ie in
the North eastern part of the country

186 135 and 186 241 on Berlin Warszawa ECs , 186 130 at Rummelsberg all weekend

07.11

Kriegslok 52 8177 worked Berlin Macht Dampf Schoenweide to Pulsnitz charter,
route outward via Hosena to Kamenz freight line, back via new Arnsdorfer Kurve
[opened 4.10.09] and Dresden Mitte to Dresden Friedrichstadt freight curve

Major disruption on S-Bahn between Ostkreuz and Schonweide due to PW work so
some passengers and crew missed the special! Be warned if you are planning to do
any of the trips that they are running in the next few weeks. NH Hotel Treptow
is about 5 mins walk from Schonweide.

08.11

An unidentified 115 rather than the booked 145 seen on the Berlin to Moskva/Kiev
train

General

Long distance trains seen and used in Germany were almost all 20+ mins late and
many over an hour late (IC 145 Schiphol - Szcecin advertised as 3 hours late!)
Needless to say the hafas connections I was using to and from the Czech Republic
didnt work in either direction, all due to Fernverkehr late running in Germany!!

Internet facilities now available in Berlin Hbf inside burger King - the ticket
you get can also be used at other locations eg inside a shop at Dresden Hbf [and
probably at other major stations]

Cheers

Keith

DB have officially anounced now that the new emus will not start before summer
2010.

This should give a good six months of 182 haulage/pushage on these trains.

Returning from a week in Czecho and Slovakia, I covered the Binche this morning
from Halle before catching the 0805 Eurostar and it dropped 2621 leading and
2611 at the rear, 2611 was my my first new 26 for four or five years!

Only viewed 2840 on the 0618 Amsterdam, 2801 and 2839 were spare 2832 was at
Forest on a rake of NS stock.

the only two P trains viewed were 2008 and 2334 which were at Midi having
terminated at about 0725 when I arrived from halled, both ECS to Forest.

According to a message in the newsgroup fido.belg.trains, P 8682 (leaving Namur
at 16h51 for Bertrix) was loco hauled (13 plus I6c coaches) last Friday. To be
confirmed!
