Business Computing Tips
By Karen Fainges

Wizards are prepared macros that let you concentrate on what you are going to
write &
leave all the formatting up to someone else. In order to find out the ones you
have in
your system, go to File - New and there will be a list. Letters, memos, faxes,
business
templates, the list goes on. Others are available at various sites on the
internet.

Templates let you make your own mini-wizards. If you set up the perfect letter
or
document, you can save it as a template, then all you have to do is change the
names and
dates. Actually, you don't even have to change the dates, if you insert a date
code.

All this is easy if you follow the simple steps. To save a document, go to File
- Save
as - and then change the Save as type to Document Template. There's your
template.

To insert a date code, go to Insert - Date & Time and tick the Update
Automatically box.
Be sure to check that the dates are the right ones for your country though. For
Australians, the American style of month, then date, can make things very
confusing.

There you go, a letter ready to go whenever you need it with everything set up
just
right. A real time saver.
