Business Computing Tips
By Karen Fainges

Free! The most powerful word in the marketing world. People like
free. They may be suspicious, but if you show good quality and
service for a free product, you have built up a great deal of trust
in the products they have to pay for.

I am not suggesting you give everything away, but why do companies
give away free samples? Because then people can try new things with
no risk. If you have a new product, or are trying to repackage an old
one, try letting people try it first. If you can not afford to supply
a free sample, try a 100% money back guarantee.

Many people try the new product because they can get their money
back, even if they then don't often bother doing it. But you must be
prepared to pay and you MUST make it as easy as possible for them to
get their money back. Complaints are not bad. Not hearing the
complaint is what really destroys your business. If a customer asks
for their money back, be sure to give it to them, but in exchange for
the real reason that the product was unsuitable. Then you can do
something about it.

"It has to be practical, it has to be cheap, and it has to work."
