Business Computing Tips

In each email, you have the option to send emails to To: CC and BCC.
These headings come from the old days of actual carbon copies. CC
literally stands for carbon copy. And you are doing just that,
sending a copy to whoever you put in that space.

BCC stands for blind carbon copy. This means send a copy, but don't
let anyone else know you sent it. So why use BCC?

Ever received an email full of names that you have to scroll through
before you can read the actual message? BCC avoids this, hiding all
the names except the one in the to field. Sending out an email to
clients, you can put your own name in the To field and the clients'
in the BCC. This has the added benefit that you receive a copy of the
email to double check as well.

It also allows you to send emails to a bunch of people without giving
the the addresses of all your friends/clients. I use it frequently
when emailing jokes to friends. One of my friends is a Federal police
officer and obviously does not want his address to go out to others.
But he likes the jokes (I hope). BCC is the solution.

Please feel free to pass it on to your friends, just let them know I
wrote it.
