Hi everyone!

I'm SEIU staff from a different local (not in CA). I joined this group
because I really admire what all of you are doing. Maybe someday, we
here at our local can do so as well.

I won't mention here what local I'm from, because the level of fear in
our office is unbelievable. Dissenters, or anyone who dares to voice
anything - get quietly let go. It's run like a dictatorship, mostly
among the leads, and it's a highly toxic environment. We have a
talented organizing staff, but we are so beaten into submission that
our results are not even close to what they could and should be. It's
not only bad for us on the staff, but it's a disservice to our
members. Our own members don't even get to have a voice at our
meetings. Stern's management style seems to have trickled down quite
effectively out here in our neck of the woods.

I would really appreciate talking to some other organizers about this.
At this point, I'm the only one who is even willing to do anything.
Everyone else is too terrified and demoralized.
