Subject: Internationalization Positions at SimulTrans
kristinp@...
Send Email Send Email

Are you interested in full-time or contract positions at SimulTrans
relating to internationalization?

SimulTrans' internationalization program was founded in 1998 by Bill
Hall, a well-known expert in the field, who continues to lead the
program. Increasingly, this program is becoming known as an effective
outsourcing solution for customers with both localization and
internationalization needs. SimulTrans was founded in 1985, and now
employs 90 employees throughout the U.S., Europe, Japan, and Brazil.

SimulTrans currently seeks various globalization experts with the
following prospective titles:
*Director/Manager, Globalization Services (targeted compensation: $120K)
*Internationalization Engineering Lead (targeted compensation: $100K)
*Project Manager (targeted compensation: $100K) for a SimulTrans
customer in New Hampshire, starting a.s.a.p. with a 2-3 month contract
that may become a regular full-time position.

In addition, we are seeking independent internationalization experts to
work on a contract basis for various internationalization projects,
covering a diverse range of operating environments, programming
languages, applications, and industries.

We generally look for candidates with the following credentials:
*3+ years of internationalization engineering experience
*A firm understanding of both advanced engineering practices and
internationalization concepts
*Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to other engineers
*Ability to work well with customers, within tight constraints,
independently
*A proven record in the area of project management and/or engineering
team leadership
*Willingness to work at customer sites for extended periods of time

Candidates for full-time positions must either reside in, or be willing
to relocate to, Silicon Valley or Boston. SimulTrans will provide
relocation and work-visa support to outstanding candidates.

If any of these opportunities interests you, please contact me knowing
that I will hold our communication confidential. Your resume would
also be appreciated to move us forward more quickly.

We hope that one or more of these opportunities appeals to you. If,
however, you are not interested at this time, please let me know, also
advising if I should keep you in mind for the future. Alternatively,
if you know other internationalization or localization experts who may
be interested in SimulTrans, their names and coordinates would be
appreciated. As you can see above, SimulTrans seeks candidates for its
internal positions, for contract positions, and for its customers
throughout the U.S.

Please send all questions and correspondence about this matter to
Recruitment@....

Thank you.

Knowledge of the technologies used for representing multilingual data on
different computer platforms.

a new platform. In order to achieve this, it was decided to build on the

A Luxembourg-based contractor is in charge of this migration, which has just
entered its final phase.

These are some great links. Maybe it's because I am usually the
employer, but the real challenge seems to be finding qualified I18N
people without spending 20% to a recruiter.

Another good place to look is on company recruitment web pages. Most big
companies involved in g11n etc have good
recruitment web pages as they are all looking for qualified personnel.

There is a category intended to link directly to these pages here:

http://dmoz.org/Computers/Software/Globalization/Career_Opportunities/

Anyone who wants to can submit company recruitment pages here or could add them
to the links page for this eGroup
(http://www.egroups.com/docvault/g11njobs/Links)
Alternatively, you can see a list of all URLs included in messages to this group
by going to
http://www.egroups.com/GroupTopStatsPage?listName=g11njobs&show=topUrlsand (a
useful eGroups function).

SDL's recruitment pages are at http://recruitment.sdlintl.com/

Finally, the web site of Multilingual Computing and Technology has a careers
section, presumably containing the
same content as the magazine:

http://www.multilingual.com/FMPro?-DB=careers&-lay=CGI&-sortfield=title&-sortord\
er=ascending&-token=&-format=career
/welcome.html&intro=yes&-find

Hi

A good place to start is a deja.com power search.

http://www.deja.com/home_ps.shtml

Type in your keyword(s) and in the 'Limit Search' section select 'jobs' from
the Archive drop down box.

For globalization there are 'about 11000 matches'.

You should also be able to use the following short cuts to the results of
searches I did:
(You may need to cut and paste as they are long URLs).

Localization (1-25 of about 8500 matches)
http://www.deja.com/[ST_rn=ps]/qs.xp?ST=PS&svcclass=dnyr&QRY=localization&defaul\
tOp=AND&DBS=4&OP=dnquery.xp&LNG=ALL

ltOp=AND&DBS=4&OP=dnquery.xp&LNG=AL

Add your own keywords (location etc.) as necessary.

Hello,

This list serves two audiences. First, it is a means for individuals seeking
employment (full-time, part-time or contract) to hear about openings. It is not
a place to criticize or post libelous information. The listowner is not
responsible for the content posted.

Second, this list serves as a means for employers to post job openings focused
towards people in the G11N field. This includes internationalization (I18N) and
localization (L10N).

Again, the listowner is not responsible for content posted to the list. All
postings are done so without any warranty of any kind. The listowner is NOT
liable for the content posted to the list.

Cheers,

George Spafford
