EMC vs. Mach3 Constant Velocity??   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #12405 of 19813 |
I've been running more and more complicated programs lately that are
composed of many short line segments. Mach3 has a terrible time with
these programs and the actual feed is usually WAY less than the
commanded feed. This leads to long machining times and it's very hard
on the cutters. Does anyone have experience with EMC 2.0 and it's CV
mode? I really like Mach3, but If EMC has a better control method I
would gladly switch over. Art said at one time he was going to work
on a method to convert the line segments into NURBS to speed things
up, but I think that idea was placed on the back burner.

Mach3 doesn't have a terrible time with multi-line segments from my experience. There is no difference between segments and arcs. What PC and hardware are you...
