History shows that whenever someone has circulated a rumor of a huge
layoff number like the 16,000 currently being passed around, the actual
number is about half that. Then everyone says "only 8,000, that's not
so bad!" I wonder if someone in Armonk communications actually has
responsibility for these level setting rumors.
