University Park, IL - Control Car #1224 - Metra Electric Line

Hello,
This list is devoted to any discussion related to the Illinois Central Railroad or its predecessors, etc. The railroad currently serves as the part of the CN railway. Many group members are supporters of the Illinois Central Railroad Heritage Association. We have been in existence since 1999. New applicants to the membership are moderated in order to prevent spamming. Please be aware of this. Your first post will appear within 24 hours of your posting. Our goal is to provide signficant turnaround, so it will probably be approved sooner. Upon subscription you will receive several handouts. These include lists on ICRR related books and a recent traffic schedule.

We have several sister lists.

Re: Questions about Mounds, IL
Wow, according to the 1927 official list, Cairo had 66,044 feet of sidings.  Mounds had 222,382!  Exceeded only by Markham, Clinton (IL), Centralia, Memphis

Re: Questions about Mounds, IL
... I don't think Mounds was a crew change point. However, keep in mind that Mounds is just a few miles north of North Cairo, IL, which was a crew change
