1930's era IC Typeface question   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #29369 of 29836 |
As editor of the Mid-American I have been asked a question by a reader about
typeface used by the IC (under the mistaken impression that I have a clue about
what I am talking about!).  The question follows below:

"I'm doing a bit of graphic design for an HO layout (set in the 1930's) and
wonder if you can tell me the name of the Illinois Central signature Art Deco
typeface used all over the IC?"

How about it, experts?  Anyone know--and if you do, do you know where this
person could find an example on the internet?

Thanks so much!

Paul, don't know if this will help or if this is what you're looking for, but check out www.railfonts.com. They have two "Illinois Central" fonts for sale. ...
