This is the companion discussion group that goes along with the iMUG web site, located at goimug.com. We tried some forums for the site, but have since moved back to this group. Joining this group makes you a member of iMUG.
More information is available on the web site, but here are the basics:
iMUG was created in 1999 for Mac users who didn’t want to spend the large amounts of money on yearly MUG dues, were not able to attend meetings, or just wanted another MUG to supplement their current MUG. “Meetings” were initially in the form of a email discussion list / online forum. Over time, iMUG has gone through many changes, including a few different web sites, some policy changes, and finally official Apple-recognized MUG status.
The software/hardware we support is always changing, but we welcome Mac users of any machines, and also support Mac-related peripherals, such as PalmOS handhelds and iPods. Apple II users are also welcome, although the main focus is Macintosh. The iMUG-Talk list is designed as a place for users to share photos of their setups, ask questions to other members, and access member-only information, such as the login for the MUG Store, where users can save some serious cash on new and refurbished Mac products.
We also offer free tickets to the Macworld Expos for members, in our regular newsletter, along with other announcements from Apple.
