Truth & Repose(R. Emerson):The Political Dam Constructed for Peak Oi   Message List

Not he is great who can alter matter, but he who can alter my state of mind.

Emerson (1837)

Subject matter: Oil-The World's Depleting Resource.

Institut Francais Du Petrole(IFP)/Report-'Depletion of Petroleum Reserves and Oil Price Trends.'

"For years confined to discussions among specialists, the question of peak oil production is now regularly debated in the press, with the price of oil often making the headlines of the daily papers."

When exactly did peak oil surface in mass media. 1999? 2000? 2001? Far and few between. It surfaced in the form of "workshops" and/or its' lesser variant mostly in Europe(Sweden, Berlin, etc.). It's NO folklore that they, the elitist and its' intelligence arm knew full-well about the matter well before enmasse. What we know for certain is the indisputable avalanche of information that rolled out in 2003 and 2004.

What isn't peculiar is the fact that this abrupt flow was triggered right after the start of the Iraq War in March 2003. There wasn't so much as a gradual build up, the tug of war of proof and disproving, nor that strong healthy dose of skepticism surrounding it. What we can surmise hence, natural progression flow of information might have been consciously tempered w/ if not managed(a dam to control flow); top-down. To a lesser degree, a nexus between government and can you say, intelligence arm and a few preferred sources of media to begin w/. The other unanswered question is: Why? But what IS peculiar is the idea that's made easier to see the war argument for Iraqi oil better at this point of inception and introspection than at any other point of its' progression after. What's more convincing?... to think that Iraq had nothing to do w/ oil or to see that information and context about its' oil was managed in and around the event for whatever purpose of advantage.

But what's ever more pressing if not interesting is are war economies the "necessary evil" to procuring full capacity utilization through full and gainful employment for its' respective economies.
