Train movement came to a standstill on the Mumbai-Howrah route after three
wagons of a goods train derailed in the South East Central Railway's Rajnandgaon
Railway Station Yard this afternoon, an SECR spokesman said.
The mishap, which occurred at about 1630 hrs, blocked both up and down tracks.
The Chhattisgarh Express, Kurla-Howrah Exp, Bilaspur-Nagpur Intercity, Ahmedabad
Exp and Jan Shatabdi Exp had halted at different stations.
Three passenger trains were also affected. Nagpur Division's officers were
working on war footing to restore normalcy and it is hoped that at least one
track would be cleared by midnight.
