It would help if you were a bit more specific. Apple's product naming practices can be confusing at times. There were five different 17-inch iMac G5 models.

... Faxing under Tiger is fundementaly broken. Somewhere around 10.4.3 it worked, by 10.4.5 it was gone. Apple decided not to fix it for anything except Intel
