One approach I have recently been experimenting with, is using a
mindmap layout when working with the Inner vision Deck.
Here are the steps:
1. Start with a blank sheet of paper, A4 or US Letter size, landscape
style
2. Write your question on the top of the page
3. Write you score for how answered the question is beside it.
4. Draw you card, and write the word/phrase in the centre of the page.
5. Write your associations as spokes radiating out of the central
word/phrase until you have your 5-8 Associations or meanings
6. Working with each association in turn, list the 3 insights or
answers, radiating from these. You will end up with 15-24 spokes.
This approach allows you to jump back and forth as you make your
associations, drawing out your awareness.
The main challenge I have found in using this approach, is lack of
space. I may start to use this with A3 sized paper instead, though
this is less portable for me.
I would appreciate any feedback on this approach? Or have you
developed a unique approach that works for you? Please share it.
