Jigyasa was started in July 1999 by Vijay Thomas(V.T.)and Munjal Dave at Satyam Renaissance Consulting (SATREN)- the erstwhile Management Consulting division of Satyam Computer Services Ltd at Chennai, India. That seems such a long time ago and now all the initial group is dispersed - Munjal is in Chicago, Susmita in California, Radhika in London and your truly is now in Toronto Canada.

The Idea to start Jigyasa occurred to me one morning when we were having a general discussion about life and cribbing about work. We were at our chummery dreading the fact that we had to go back to work after a weekend. I guess its called the OGIM ( O' God its Monday )syndrome.

The name Jigyasa was suggested by Susmita who said that 'Jigyasa' in sanskrit meant inquisitiveness. ( this is what she told us).

In Chennai the Jigyasa team went on to conduct a few Business Quizzes like the MMA ( Madras Management Association) Business Quiz and also participated in most of the quizzes happening around 1999/2000. Nowadays we no longer have a "Brick and Mortar" presence but we have more members and our quizzes go all over the world.

All Jigyasa members are part of an intelligent and contemporary Business Community where being part of Jigyasa , we ensure will be an added tool in their arsenal.
